Park/Lake Information
- Summer Hours:
5:00 AM - 10:00 PM - Winter Hours:
7:00 AM - 10:00 PM - Free parking
Located at 1626 Sundog Ranch Road, take State Route 89 north to Prescott Lakes Parkway, then turn right and cross the bridge. Take the first left, and then another left into the Trail head parking lot. As our premier trail, this was once the rail bed of the Santa Fe Railroad, built in 1893. This 4.5-mile trail passes through the scenic Granite Dells with views of Watson Lake where various spur trails are found. Hike north as far as you want, then return the same way. The Peavine Trail connects to the equally scenic Iron King Trail which was formerly the Prescott and Eastern Railroad to Poland and Crown King.
* Off-Season hours are from the Tuesday after Labor Day through the Friday before Memorial Day.
** Summer hours are from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
