Tuesday, February 19, 2013

PRESCOTT, AZ (February 19, 2013) - The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for tonight from midnight through Wednesday evening for elevations above 3,000 feet.

Snow accumulation is expected to be six to 12 inches in areas above 6,000 feet in elevation, and three to six inches in elevations 5,000 to 6,000 feet. One to three inches is expected in elevations 3,000 to 5,000 feet. 30-mile an hour winds are expected in Prescott with a low of 28 degrees this evening.

The Street Maintenance Division will begin snow preparation immediately and continue throughout the duration of the storm," said Bobbie King, Streets Superintendent. She noted that cars parked along any street impede the progress of the plows and pose a danger.

Residents and businesses are advised to observe city code and clear sidewalks of snow and ice in front of their properties as soon as possible.
