Eight Year Old Author at Public Library Event

Kayla Champlin, 8 year old author
Only eight years old, and Kayla Champlin is already an award winning author! Kayla will be a special guest at Prescott Public Library's Silly Thursday Storytime on Thursday, November 19, at 10 a.m., when she will introduce her new book Tom the Turkey and talk about what it is like to write stories. The program will feature several Thanksgiving themed stories and a fun turkey craft.
Kayla wrote her first book, Green Aliens in Space, when she was six. Her latest effort, Tom the Turkey, is about a plump turkey who finds a clever way to avoid being the main course at Thanksgiving dinner. Tom the Turkey won first place among Arizona second graders in the 15th Annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest.
