"Dump the Drugs" Day -- No Bust

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Last weekend's Dump the Drugs Day hauled in 400 pounds of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications.

MATForce, the Yavapai County Substance Abuse Coalition, sponsored the annual event to keep potentially dangerous drugs away from teens as well as out of our water sources.

"Proper disposal of unwanted medication helps protect our teens," said new Prescott Chief of Police Mike Kabbel, a member of the MATForce Executive Committee.

Kabbel added that the Prescott Police Department accepts unwanted prescription or over-the-counter medication, except syringes, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the station located at 222 S. Marina.
