Lora Lopas

I am an Arizona Native and have lived in Prescott since 1978. My parents moved the family up here due to my brother’s severe asthma and the doctors recommended the wonderful clean air of Prescott. I have been married to Jon Lopas since 1994 and I am the mother of 2 girls, Audrey who is 10 and Mallory who is 8. My husband is a pilot with FedEx and although we could live almost anywhere in the world, we call Prescott our hometown by choice. I want it to continue to be "Everybody’s Hometown."

I served as the Chairperson of the Prescott Open Space Acquisition Advisory Committee and I was an original member of OSAAC which works to preserve Prescott land so Prescott is as beautiful and healthy it is tomorrow as it is today. I am also a co-owner of Prescott Real Estate Advisors located on McCormick Street and I serve on the Primavera school board. I also am a founding member of the Prescott Area Children’s Museum Board, and our goal is to open a state-of-the-art interactive museum for children ages 0-12.

Top priorities I will address include growth managment, land preservation, economic growth and conservation in the City of Prescott. We all cherish the quality of life Prescott has to offer. I plan on maintaining this quality with smart growth and proper planning that is crucial to the future of Prescott. Our current children and grandchildren are relying on us to plan the future of Prescott. We need to implement renewable energies and a safe and plentiful water supply. We need to start maximizing our local resources and work cooperatively with our neighboring communities. I believe we can no longer use "band-aid" solutions. We need to solve problems and plan for future generations.
